About Theresa Gow

“I have a warm, empathic manner, where I interact easily and am able to form relationships with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.”

Theresa Gow is a Compassionate Counsellor

Theresa Gow is a counsellor with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ACHSP) who has a particular interest in life transitions and the emotional impact of change.

Many of the individuals Theresa works with are navigating experiences such as bereavement, relationship changes, emigration, identity shifts, or life stages that reshape how they see themselves and their place in the world. These moments can feel deeply disorientating, especially when it is painful to release what once felt familiar while trying to move into something new.

Alongside her professional training and counselling experience, Theresa brings a personal understanding of transition and loss. She has lived and worked in two different countries and has experienced periods of depression, anxiety and identity change connected to emigration, separation, post-natal depression and the empty-nest transition.

My Approach

Supporting individuals through life transitions, loss and identity shifts.

Theresa’s approach to counselling is warm, relational and practical. She offers a confidential and supportive space where clients can slow down, reflect, and make sense of what they are carrying.

Therapy provides an opportunity to explore difficult emotions, understand patterns that may feel overwhelming, and reconnect with oneself in a way that feels grounded and sustainable.

Therapy has become my safety net. To anyone feeling depressed, worthless, or insecure: your feelings are valid. There’s a reason you feel the way you do, and there’s nothing wrong with asking for help. Seeking help was the best thing I ever did. Thank you, Theresa, for everything you’ve done and continue to do.

Love, Anonymous

I’m extremely grateful I met Theresa online . I’d been struggling for a long time with the after-effects of a nasty divorce, and her thoughtful suggestions help me time and time again to see the bigger picture and manage my old anxious habits better. Theresa is emotionally attuned and deeply empathetic, and combined with her well-honed listening skills, she calmed and comforted me right from the word go so I could relax into our conversations.

Love, Flore

Theresa made sure I felt safe and gave me a sense of trust. She asked me questions I had never thought of asking myself and guided me through exercises that truly helped me unpack my box of emotions. She is the best in the business. I’m so grateful for everything she has done. May the Lord bless her with all that her heart desires. I honestly cannot thank her enough for her help.

Love, Boza
